Programme before the wedding

Banana & Swim Adventure 🍌

WEDNESDAY approx 11:30–16:00

Join us for a relaxed trip to Fajã dos Padres – a peaceful hideaway between the sea and a banana plantation.

To get there, you'll ride a very steep cable car (€12 return) down the cliffside. It's quick, a little thrilling, and offers stunning views. There's usually free street parking nearby.

Once at the bottom, it's a short walk through tropical gardens to a small café serving food made from ingredients grown right there on the farm. There's a rocky beach and a pier for swimming if the sea is calm.

If the water's too rough, we might head to one of these favourite backup beaches:

🌿 Praia da Prainha: Golden sand, dramatic cliffs, peaceful vibes, and a small beach café.

🌋 Seixal Beach: Black sand and epic mountain views – a wild and beautiful spot worth the drive.
We'll confirm the location closer to the day, based on swimming conditions.

Meet & Greet at São Tiago Fort

Friday, 12 septembre, at 6:00–8:00 PM
Address: Fortaleza de São Tiago, Zona Velha, Funchal

The evening before the big day, we'd love to welcome you to a relaxed and informal meet & greet at the beautiful São Tiago Fort. Built in the early 1600s to protect Funchal from corsair attacks, the fort is perched above the seafront in the heart of the city's oldest district, Zona Velha.

We'll be serving drinks and some light snacks, and we hope you'll stop by to say hello and get to know the other guests before the wedding celebrations begin. We will also hand out pamplets, which you should bring to the wedding. Here are all the information you need regarding the wedding day.

The surrounding area is perfect for a stroll, with narrow cobbled streets, colorful buildings, street art, and lots of charming bars. There are also many lovely restaurants nearby if you'd like to grab a bite before or after.

For those who wants, we will take a few poncha in the old town after.
Keep in mind that we are not staying late as we have a big day ahead of us.

Chill & Volleyball at Machico Beach 🏐

SUNDAY 15:00–19:00

Unwind with us at Machico Beach – soft sand, calm water, restaurants nearby, and a beach volleyball court for those who want to play.

We'll probably arrive a bit earlier, depending on the day. Come whenever suits you. If the weather's bad, we'll switch to another chill-friendly beach on the island and let you know.
